I'm thinking of a Nick from The Puffer Forum. It would be awesome if it's the same guy.

They looked fine and very active and healthy, but I don't know for how long they can stay in freshwater. Had to resist The urge to impulse buy. I've never seen coloration of markings like that on any other puffer. Very vibrant.
From what I heard, puffer is born in fresh water. As they grow, they would transition into brackish water. They will finally live in the salt water. Is that correct?

Nope, but I know him as well. We were quasi active over there for awhile. Had some great discussions with him there about some oddballs and tank thoughts

Generally yes, it depends on the species and their particulars. They are on 3-4 continents and each are only loosely related so many adapted and evolved to similar roles with no common relatives.

That is very cool transition. So the store might be correct to list them as fresh water since they are small.

But they outta educate the people about what they're ultimately getting. One time some guy told me to just open a box of aquarium salt and dump it in to my tank in order to make it brackish. He got The Look.

Too bad. It would've been cool if it were PF Nick that's here as well.
