I have had A LOT of different species over the last 14 years.
From Petros and tropheus, saltwater fowler and reefs, arowana, to geophagus and altums in planted tanks, - the main thing to remeber with any fish is consistancy, as long as their are no major swings in either direction, you willbe fine.

I've never buffered my water with chemicals or anything, if you want to pick from the above monsters list. Large malawi haps- like elctrus, dolphins, venustus, eyebiters, malawi trout, exos or fossos would work with the aros and rays. just throw some lace rock in their to buffer, lace rock is actually from central america mostly, so it wont hurt to add. with rays, soft soft sand is essential. bichirs are awesome also, aswell as niger cats and lima shovelnose for some big fish clean up.
in the end houston has a lot of tank busters to xtreme fish is my preferred choice for tankbusters, but their are many places to get what you are looking for. Our water isn't that bad as long as you keep your water changed regularly.

for the record if i had that tank, bentho. tricoti, trio of furcifer, 100+ jumbo black bee cyps, some gnathochromis permaxilaris, and maybe a few syno. polli, and syno. brichardi's. Now that would be my dream!

+1 on the Tangs selection, Buddy, but I think he decided not to go with Tangs.

I still vote for discus / easy planted setup. Get wilds so you don't have to worry about grow outs. That is what I do with my 220, and I love it.

Troy, a quick follow up... I was at Fish Gallery and they do indeed have a Fly River Turtle there. I'm guessing it is about 18" long. Aside from his snout, looks a lot like a sea turtle!

DaveRareFish might have some of them. LAA for sure will have them. Perhaps ADG can bring them in too.
