  • DIY sump

So I sold all of my stuff since I'm moving. Well I won't be out long. I'm gonna get myself another tank but this time I wanna get into the DIY world. I'm planning to do a 30 gallon sump. I'm gonna ask for advice on this since I've never done anything like it before. Media suggestions? Designs? Etc?

Google diy wet/dry. There's lots of good ones. The simplest and most cost effective one is a Rubbermaid tub and a storage bin. Total is about $30.

For media.. plastic pot scrubbers. 6/$1. Best bang for your buck. It fits tightly and uniformly. Perfect for a storage bin to maximize surface area.

Surprisingly the one next to my house didn't have them, so I guess I'll try a few more.

I have 30 gallon sump I bought off Craigslist for a cheap price. I bought overflow in college station. Got a pump. Got a few bio balls. I was actually thinking about lava rock and matrix before the thread started. I'm thinking I'll stay cheap and do pot scrubbers. Thanks guys! I'm all set.
