  • New 150 gallon office tank

So here's a new tank of mine I wanted to share with you guys. It's a standard 150 that I set up in my office. First video shows the stock, petro longolas and tropheus ilangi

Second video shows some of the under the hood stuff. Stand is steel with maple panels attached with velcro. Sump is a diy 55 gal with filter socks, pond mats, about 15 liters of matrix and eheim media. Finally some purigen, jager heaters and return pump back through a DIY output. MP40 and k4 supply additional water movement.

    Thanks for looking!

Sean, tank looks awesome. Love the DIY sump, looks like it's very effective.

Seems to be working well so far, considering the stock. Water is actually quite clear. I was sure I would need to add a canister, but so far so good.

I'm going the same direction on my tanks except with a moving bed for biological media like I did on my 40B.

How do you like the pond mats?

They work well as far as I can tell. They are expensive is the only downfall. However, they're designed for a heavy bioload and to allow heavy flow through the media w/o getting clogged. I know a guy that only uses mats as his media. I prefer matrix myself, but I had them lying around so I figured I'd chuck them in the sump

Those are ilangi. Lost all the bulombora after adding fish without a long enough qt period. It sucked big time
