  • Average time lights are on

How long do you leave your lights on per day.

I run mine about 8 hours and I think it's to long

I keep mine on 4p to 11p. it alll depends on how many plecos you have and the wattage of the light. More light will result in lots of algae. If the light is weaker or you have plenty of plecos you can leave the light on longer without any ill effects.

I leave my kalambo lights on for 10-12 hours. No problem with algae and I have no plecos. I have GLO T5 lighting too. My trophs graze on it.

I went to the Marineland double bright LED's and the brown algae is a lot worse.

Depends on the tank, lighting, stock. Usually 7-10 hours on average
