      I thought that it also helped prevent blood poisoning from nitrite? Or is that aquarium salt??? Too many damn salts

        Epsom salt doesn't reduce nitrite. That would be Aquarium salt, natural sea salt, or plain table salt. They reduce it minimally. Most effective way to reduce nitrites is water changes.

          I know the salt doesn't reduce nitrite. It reduces the amount of toxicity on the blood and gills.


          Also talking nitrites here, not nitrates. Best way to reduce nitrites is to cycle the tank...
