What do you mean? Corys love sand. It's the gravel that hurts them.

That's probably not because of the sand. The substrate concern is that rough substrates other than sand wears down their little barbels that they use to smell/feel and find food and dig in the sand for food. They may have been hiding because of predators or water conditions or lighting or just the type of cory and behavior patterns... so many factors, but I don't think substrate was one of em.

My cories just clean up after the geos. They eat NLS, frozen bloodworms, mysis, brine, spirulina, and the occasional algae wafer. They're not too picky. :)

Corys will eat left over food and pretty much anything else. try NLS pretty much all fish likes NLS.
