I've been reading a lot about Betta breeding lately. I've not seen anyone breeding in a 40b, is there a reason for this? Is using a larger tank not good? I would figure it would be better because then you can also use it as a grow-out without having to transfer the fry and risk losing them.


Also, how much copper is in Pasadena city water? It doesn't seem to hurt my cherry shrimp, but I have some brine shrimp eggs but haven't had any luck hatching them using the two liter bottle method. Should I use distilled water and add salt and baking soda to hatch them instead of treated tap water?

you don't want the male to have to chase the female too much.. or give the female too much room to run away..


if you did use 40g.. i would lower that water ALOT.. and maybe add a divider.. HOWEVER>.
betta fry are super small.. they may never find the food..
