Just keep the amount to a minimal and only as a supplement to their normal diet.

Stay away from brine. Prawns/krill and mysis are your best bet. Don't be scurred of feeding it to trophs. Mine do great on it

        Re: Gulf shrimp

I chop up two large prawns every morning for my BG. Will increase to three when they are all healthy

And mysis is only marginally better than brine. Shrimp first then krill as far I'm concerned.

                Yup!

                Shrimp for the win!

I fine it's better than krill.

I fed my petros and tropheus gulf shrimp daily for over 2 years. Zero issues.
I ate my fish that died.

I'm up to 4x 15 -18 ct/lb shrimp for the BG in the morning every day. Probably gonna end up at about 8 when everybody is healthy and hungry after next round of anti parasite treatments.

I found a box of frozen shrimp at the in-laws, think they got it from the frozen coolers at the asian market but that stuff after being thawed was pretty fresh looking.

It was a 5lb block I think. size of a tissue box.

Next trip down to Kemah, I'm getting about 20lbs already peeled. See how long that lasts.

Get ready to up the water changes with the heavy shrimp feeding.

I feed about a cup of cubed seafood to my tank and the shrimp probably gets the serious foaming problems with my bubble volcanoes.

Yea, I need to keep an eye on that. I think my antibiotics might have killed off some beneficial bacteria that needs to be replenished plus more to handle the new bio load. Hoping that will happen soon.

Kemah's the place to go for now. Prices are going to be kind of high until shrimp season in Texas Gulf starts again which is usually around July 15th. Right now, all of the shrimp that are brought in are from the bay or from the shrimpers that head to Mississippi/Louisiana.

As long as it's not more that $10/lb, I'm golden.

sounds like I need to find a gulf shrimp supplier. I have been feeding frozen Brine shrimp from the LFS. looks like I will have to find a new hook up y'all!!!
