Hey, I finally got a 55g saltwater tank! I am so happy! I am currently planning what to have in it and was wondering if this would work. A deep sand bed, live rock, a 15-20g refugium, 10-20g sump and some power heads in the tank. Is this enough? The fish I am planning to put in the tank are 2 false pecurla clownfish and maybe a small blue tang. This is just a brainstorm. I might not get the tang. Please suggest reef safe fish that are cool and colorful.

    Thanks!

Dont do the deep sand bed.

It does more bad than good, IMHO.

    Everything else sounds good.
I ate my fish that died.

          I throw in my 2c.
I've never heard of a real person say "You should get a chromis" It is always, "Dont put them in, you'll never get them out" Or- stories of how the chromis killed something expensive through bullying. Double check your checking. I've been wrong before...

This particular star fish, what does he eat specifically?
39g Crypt/ anubias, wild shrimp and minnows.

55g Reef- first salt in many many years, coming along. Looking great, and stable. Garden mix of soft/lps corals. DIY refugeum

20g Reef- different than the first by design.

Are you thinking of damsels? I will tell you a blue reef chromis is pretty mean conspecific. They say they are peaceful, but I have never had mine attack any other fish or coral. Clown fish will put them in there place pretty quickly. But my blue reef terrorizes my green chromis which are much more peaceful chromis, he also killed two other blue reef when I had them in a nano. I just got 10 green chromis so that they can stick together.
