I've got a small (3") exochromis anagenys that has had something weird happen to him. It looks as if his entire upper lip has been turned completely inside out, so now it protrudes out much forther than his lower lip, and his head appears to slope down in a funny way as a result. He's still eating, so that's good, but he's been like this for a week, so it appears to be a permanent condition. Has anyone seen anything like that before? It's bizarre.

I'll try to get a picture of him and post it.

Did he get hurt fighting? If I'm imagining it correctly, I've seen this happen due to scarring from fighting, although it's a little soon for him to scar if it's just been a week.

I considered that, since there are two of them in there, but I don't know that for certain. I've never seen the two of them get tangled up, nor have I ever seen either of them engage anyone else in the tank. So it's possible, I just can't say for certain. He doesn't have any wounds, either, no cuts or abrasions, and he's not beaten up at all.
