29g fahaka puffer tank

Well I purchased a fahaka puffer from fish ranch the other day, this is my first attempt at a freshwater tank. I know it will out grow the 29g in a few months so ill be up grading when its time. Cute little guy, just maybe 1.75" long. Here are some pictures, I know the tank is kinda bare but in due time ill add more rock and fake plants.

What do you feed him?

Well it was in a 75g but I gave it to a friend. Should be getting it back soon. I fed shrimp, snails, and blood worms.

How big will he get...?

Eventually if i can keep it healthy they can get 17"+, so it'll have to have at least a 125 to itself...

Is this a true freshwater fish or is he a brackish water fish?

True freshwater its entire life. EXTREMELY aggresive though, no tank mates will survive...

Just watched a few vids, kinda of creepy they don't look like they are very fast moving but when they see food look out...

I got mine from fish ranch too. it was 1 inch some when i got it. but now it is almost 3 inches. It grows pretty fast with blood worm.
You dont believe that I keep it in a 10Gal now with some plants. I think it will be happy if you use real plants.
For sure I will move my fahaka into a bigger tank next month.

Got mine from fish ranch also. Yea really fun to watch them eat ghost shrimp and feeder gold fish...
