  • WTB pump for Seaclone Protein Skimmer

I recently got a Seaclone SCPS-100 protein skimmer from a friend, however we were unable to find the pump that draws/mixes water and air into the chamber. Does anyone have one of these for sale or know where I could find one?

Anyone who could give me a suggestion on alternative solutions/replacement would be great. Thanks guys!

I have that skimmer and a pump. While the original pump has a special air intake, I don't think you really need to have the exact same one.
The link at the bottom says it can use a maxijet 1200. As long as the pump has a venturi air intake, you should be fine.

You can make the venturi setup with the Max-Jet 1200 by using the screen that fits over the intake. Cut a hole in the end of it and use the supplied air hose and valve to adjust how much air is mixed in. I did this on one of the CPR Back-Pak Skimmers and it worked really good.

        +1 on what Hanson posted.

Or you can just find some screening or coarse sponge, cut down the impeller and tiethe coarse sponge to the impeller blades. This is what I have done in the past and it turns the skimmer into a beast!

Could you elaborate on what you did?
Cut down the impeller? Tie the sponge to the blades?

Try searching reefcentral for "mesh mod".

Basically cut down the impeller so it's not as tall to give room for the added mesh and then have a circle cut mesh and tie it to the impellers... hard to explain but pictures would be way better. google, reefcentral or Nano-reef should have a DIY.
