I wanted to create this list simply as a means to pass time, mix ideas/opinions, and also because I did not want to thread-jack someone elses thread. As you may know, the anticipation of my upcoming tank (hopefully sunday) is driving me to the point of insanity LOL! Keep in mind I am NOT putting fish in until my tank is cycled and safe. I have at least done that part before, but on a FOWLR tank 17x as big, never a reef and never this small...

    My shopping List thus far:
(shopping list) My build thus far:
    Tank:30G Oceanic Cube & stand - black trim/black stand
    Filtration: Octopus HOB Skimmer
    Lighting: Coralife 24" Aqualight Pro 150W HQI/2x65W PC/2x1W Lunar
    Live Rock: 10#
    Dead Rock: 20ish?
    Substrate: Fiji Pink Reef Sand

    Upcoming Purchases:
5-10G DIY Refugium (whatever I end up having space for)
    ------

    Stocking List Idea:

    Corals:
    Mushrooms
    Rics
    Zoas
    Bubble Coral
    Candy Cane
    Hammer Coral
    Plate Coral
    Xenias
    MAYBE Gorgonian
MAYBE Maricultured Stylopora Pistillata (seen from saltwaterfish.com)

    Anemones:
1-2 (Sebae, BTA, Malu, maybe a carpet?) (Decided on a BTA to start out with)
Im not sure really what would be a good one to start with for a tank this small. With a larger tank you dont really have to worry about how big they get, if they are aggressive and whatnot. If anyone has any pointers on good anemones for a tank my size please lemme know!

    Livestock:
2 Cinnamon Clowns (if i can find them locally)
1 Lyretail Hawkfish (if i can find locally, probably not)
1 Sixline Wrasse (I'm rethinking the sixline...seems too agressive)
added: 1 yellow watchman goby OR 1yellowhead jawfish
    added: 3 green chromis

    CUC:
    1 Emerald Crab
    10 or so Cerith Snails
    1-2 Peppermint Shrimp
    1 Fire Shrimp
    1 Brittle Starfish

    5-10Gallon Fuge List:
    5 Cleaner Clams
    Bristleworms
    Cerith Snails
    Chaeto

That is all I can think of for now really. I wouldnt mind having a few of the "prettier" macros in the main tank for show either. It just really depends on my livestock and whatnot. I also dont expect to fit all of those corals in the tank, I just wanna do what is the healthiest for the tank. I also and kinda leery on SPS' since I am not very experienced in keeping corals. I also tried to pick some things that were easy-moderate in keeping. ANY INPUT IS APPRECIATED!

Theres a few problems you can have with your list. The main one is that you want a scooter blenny. Keep in mind that this fish is just like the mandarin (difficult and will eat mainly pods). To keep this fish you will need more live rock and the fuge will help too. This fish can be fed brine shrimp in most cases but brine shrimp lacks nutrients that it will get from pods. Also if you add this fish i would advise you to think about taking out other fish that would compete for the same pods. The 6 line wrasse will eat flakes and pellets but will also feed on pods, lowering the pod levels for the scooter. Also 6 lines have known to be territorial bullies so i advise adding this fish last. I like to add that a tang or dwarf angel would be a better choice of fish, due to there appetite for algae and even brown diatoms. Angels are some of the most beautiful fish in the trade. The brittle starfish is a hider and will often not be seen and can even become territorial. Anemones may run over your corals. Some people say add the anemone first and let find a spot before you add coral. 1 shrimp is enough to keep that size tank in good condition. I would like to add that cerith snails are a good choice, I started with 6 and now i have tons. Britsle worms are fine in the sump, but in the main tank they will be eaten by the 6 line and the peppermint shrimp. Another thing to think about is keeping the sand bed clean. Nassarius snails or a spider conch will do a great job at keeping it clean. Cant tell you to much on the hawk fish and cleaner clams cause I never had any. I am a big fan of the Euphyllia corals and know that you can have frogspawn, and hammer corals next to each other just fine, plus they look great. Hope i could help!

just make sure you get your hole drilled in the right spot. If you decide later that you dont like it, your going to have to find someone to fill your hole.

Yeah, you don't want people filling your hole.
