  • Powerhead Plugs

I have two of those small powerheads, one of them is a penguin sponge filter and I have an almost identical interal pump like it. I lost the little thing that plugs the hole on the top of the discharge. One tank I rapped a rubberband around airtube cause I am running DIY carbon on it, but I just want to plug up the other one to get more circulation in my bigger tank.

So, what could I use to plug that up to replace the cap?

How about a tiny piece of sponge or filter foam?

Yeah, all I have is filter floss. I have some sink sponges I could tear. No filter foam.

If you have a piece of hose the right size fold it over and tie it off with synethic not cotton thread or a rubber band and stick it in the hole. It only needs to be about an inch long. If it is the Marineland Penguin I will have some at the GHAC auction.
