If he's eating, then yes you can treat him for ip's now. I use the gel-tek ultra cure px, soak his food in it, feed him twice a day for 3 days.
I wouldn't treat him for ich, it's probally sand. Just keep an eye on him and see if the spots are in a different place later today. If they are you know it's not ich, it they are in the same spot then you will know it's ich.

I was going to say keep him in the 14 where you can observe him getting the IP treatment.. then move him in about a weeks time.. because you want to do water changes during that treatment..... edmlfc ??

i treated RA on the get-tek for 3 days and i didn't change the water until after i was thru with the treatment......
then i started another treatment of prazipro and didn't change the water until after the tx ended.......but i did make sure i cleaned up any debri from the feedings i gave him during that 3 days.....
but Lissa is the puffer queen on here i can say that much......

i had to order it online from pet mountain.com..i got the gel-tek
i got the vita chem and the prazipro from dr fosters/smith i agree about tx'ing him in the 14 as opposed to the 100......

Gel-tek: Yes you will want to do water changes using gel-tek. If he purges worms you will want to get the dead worms out of the tank. Gel-tek will be soaked into the food so your not treating the water, your treating the puffer.

Prazipro: When using prazipro you don't do a water change until the end of the treatment. With prazipro you are treating the puffer and the water.

Hope that makes sense.

If you are going to be in the bmt area give me a call, I have an extra bottle of gel-tek. I work on Sat., then I'm off for 4 days. Or I can mail it to you on Monday. The viatmins you can get at the lfs or you can order it online. If your puffer is not showing any signs of worms it's not an emergency. It's just best to treat them asap. Kill the worms before they can take over the puffer.

Annabelle was 3" when I got her, I had her in a 28 gallon lot's of decor and not much room to swim. I kept her in there for about 4-5 weeks. She was fine.

The only problem with puffers is that you get attached too quickly.
I went to 3 different seafood shops because the seafood didn't seem fresh enough for him.

I also sat up until almost 3 am because i couldn't stop making sure he was still breathing.
So, I solved the problem...I moved his cube next to my bed.

I still wake up in the middle of the night and go check on my puffers.
They are like puppies in water. I just love them. Elvis got a bit jealous while I was talking to Annabelle last night. He gave me a fright and a shower all at once. My husband said that I needed to give Elvis more attention.
