  • Hygrophila difformis

    Water Sprite or Water Wisteria

I love this plant.  You can use it as a floating plant or as a rooted plant.
Depending on variety & environment the leaves take on different shapes.
It will even grow leaves above the water surface
Leaves grow nodules and roots and break off to form baby plants.
Requires nutrient rich water (nitrates) and medium light.
CO2 not required but will turbo charge the growth.
I grows really fast even without CO2

    Setup October 27th

    7 weeks later

Once established It multiplies rapidly - so if you'ld like to try some just pm me.
'Dear Lord,' the minister began, with arms extended toward heaven and a rapturous look on his upturned face. 'Without you, we are but dust ...'
He would have continued but at that moment my very obedient daughter who was listening leaned over to me and asked quite audibly in her shrill little four-year old girl voice, 'Mom, what is butt dust?'

I'd love some, I think it'd be great in my Paratilapia tank.

And I'll be setting up a vivarium soon, and I bet it would look great there, too.
