  • Correct silicone for sealing an aquarium

I need to reseal an aquarium, and I am having a hard time finding 100% silicone that is safe for tank reapirs or use. I know a lot people use GE Silicone I but the tube states that it is not to be used for aquariums.

Does anyone know who carries any of the ones below in town.

CRL 99AS Clear Aquarium Silicone Sealant
    Dow Corning Aquarium Silicone
    or
    Perennator Aquarium Silicone
    150G Tropheus Moorii Ilangi
    125G Tropheus Moorii Ilangi
    115G Tanganyikan

All Glass Aquariums buys all their silicone from GE now ...  hence the new label on the side of tubing. According to the site below, it is still the same stuff.

    Scarecrow : I haven't got a brain... only straw.
Dorothy : How can you talk if you haven't got a brain?
Scarecrow: I don't know... But some people without brains do an awful lot of talking... don't they?
Dorothy: Yes, I guess you're right.

Thanks for the info, I used GE Silicone I over a year ago to install a center brace on a 75 gallon aquarium and I don't recall it stating that it was not for aquariums use. A long discuusion on your quoted thread. Thanks.
