They are fresh water plants.. I would say yes but you would need to ask people like Taipan.. he has done plant trips here in Texas

There are a lot of nice plants there and most will do great in your tank!

Is there any way to clear it from any/all bacteria it may have?

I know it may sound like a dumb question...but ehh...just wondering.
I know you can't boil them, lol. So, what do you do?

The only thing that comes to mind would be a bleach dip, though I'm not sure if this would be 100% effective. This would be a great question for Bhushan or some other member of NASH...

Honestly, I've never worried about it. I just threw the plants in.

I would give the plants a mild potassium permanganate dip to disinfect them.
              Check out this link:

As Tim said I have added wild collected plants and never worried about doing the dip. Just rinse them carefully in ambient temperature tap water and clean any dead rotten leaves and stalks and you should be alright.
              Thanks

You could also use a dilute Hydrogen Peroxide dip.

I would quaranteen with feeder fish if you don't dip.
'Dear Lord,' the minister began, with arms extended toward heaven and a rapturous look on his upturned face. 'Without you, we are but dust ...'
He would have continued but at that moment my very obedient daughter who was listening leaned over to me and asked quite audibly in her shrill little four-year old girl voice, 'Mom, what is butt dust?'
