        Re: Interested in buying 223

:) No nothing sinister. Just looking for a used but in good condition inexpensive rifle for the shooting range. I was thinking taking the kids to the shooting range would be good family fun and I and I wanted something fun for myself. I found a kids rifle and scope combo really inexpensive so I wanted something for myself that would be cheap to shoot but still useful. I also know there are a lot of folks here that shoot and thought I would check here before the gun show at the end of the month.

I had an SKS before and it was fun to shoot :)

One of these days we have to make it to the range before gas prices go through the roof and ammo costs become unbearable..

You interested in selling one of the AR 15's?

Ammo is already there.....maybe it will be the new currency if we go by what cichlidfan preaches....believe it had something to do with new world order or something.

Good thing I buy my ammo by the cases

I might have a lower reciever I can sell you but most of the AR's are not transferable unless you want to pay the $200 tax either that or they are setup so that they will accept a taxed item.

I've heard that Tomball Pawn has the best prices around, and in most cases cheaper than you could find on the net.

Very cool, thanks for the tip. I hadn't even thought about Pawn Shops.

                      Thank you

I wouldn't go with a .223 if you want something affordable to shoot at the range.  I have a buddy with an AR-15 chambered in 9mm that is a blast to shoot and is quite affordable still.  Also like they said, 22's are a blast to shoot.  You could go out and pick up a Ruger 10/22 for about $150 and a brick of 500 shells for another $10 and have a ball.

I agree with the 9mm thing....I have a 9mm AR15 and it is a hoot! Also with how decent priced the case ammo it does make it a lot more affordable then the .223 another good thing about it is you can shoot it at the indoor ranges which is always fun.

There is also the .22lr AR15.....
