  • Happy New Year!! Happy New Hobby!! Hello all

How are ya all? Hope all is well.

All is well on my end. Still baby sitting the two tanks I was supposed to have for a month!! Got a call the other day the fish owner is taking a year long contract in Chicago, but would really like to have the lion fish when he gets back 8O

I have taken up another new hobby. The nitro RC truck/buggy was getting old so I thought about trying out the RC planes then decided why try the toys. I started training for a private pilots certificate in late November. I am about half way done. I hope to be complete and flying my wife and I to Dallas in March. I just thought fish were/are expensive. Flying is a blast. It's like being in complete control of your very own rolercoaster. What a ride!!

You can get diesel powered small planes that can go 125 mph and get 40 mpg.

Re: Happy New Year!! Happy New Hobby!! Hello all

I almost stopped by the other day Walter. Figured you were at work. I have a new cell number.

Flying is a blast. I can't wait until I can take people up.

The plane I want is around $60,000-$80,000. Cruise speed is around 145kts/167mph and gets 14mpg while at that speed. But with climb out and taxi time that will be reduced.

The one I want, but can't afford cost $560,000 cruises at 300kts/345mph and gets around 5-6mpg.

                            Jason good luck :)

My three solo cross country flights when I got my license was La Porte to Beaumont, to Galveston and back to La porte.  The second was from La Porte, to Victoria to Galveston and then back to La Porte, and the third was La Porte to Beaumont to Victoria to La Porte.

I still consider flying the best time of my life :)   sadly I ran out of money and decided to get back into it when I had some money again.. It never materialized..

                            Keep smiling :)
