Re: WTB small plecos(max adult size 3" Or Ottos
How small is tiny? im looking for something to put in one of my angeltanks after i get the pleco out of there.
Ive never had any corys, they are scavangers right?
Re: WTB small plecos(max adult size 3" Or Ottos
Eh, well, I don't know if I would call them scavengers...I'd call them bottom feeders. If you're looking for plecos or otos, I'm assuming you're looking for something that eats algae? If so, although cories are some of my favorite fish, they won't really touch the algae.
Re: WTB small plecos(max adult size 3" Or Ottos
The breeding pairs might be about two to two and a half inches long, full grown. The babies are about the size of two week old guppies right now. I think the angels would eat them. If you want something under three inches long full grown most of the plecos are too big? Corys are bottom feeding scavengers but not much good at eating the algae off of the glass. They love algae wafers and they do like some algae. Corys are not very aggressive. If you want to eat tough algae and clean glass the chinese algae eaters get about four inches long. They do move through the water pretty fast.

From my experience, the chinese algae eaters get a bit aggressive when they are mature. I'm not sure as to whether or not those would be the best choice...

Dorothy: Yes, I guess you're right.

Niger Otos, Regular Otos, and Jumbo Otos are available at either Village and Fish Ranch from what I remember.

Ameca splendins will eat the tough algae but they are not catfish or bottom scavengers. I think they would work well with the angels. They are extinct in the wild and pretty to look at. They will push your size limit a bit but they are not very aggressive.
I agree with armthehomeless about the chinese algae eaters being fast and a bit aggressive. They are probably the best glass cleaning tough algae eater though.

I have a few CAEs in with my African cichlids. They do manage to keep the tank of the glass pretty clean.
