  • oto in LFS

Does anyone know of a LFS that carries oto's here? I've been trying to look for some for my planted tank but to no avail.

both petsmart and petco carry them.. something like 1.99 at petsmart and 1.79 at petco

just so you know i got mine at petsmart and only lost 1 of 6 that i bought (pretty good considering people say they are hard to acclimate)

I have seen Oto's at City Pets, but its been a few weeks since the last time I was there. You should check with Fish Ranch II and see if they have any.

Fish Ranch II has had some really nice ones lately. I also got some big, fat ones at HAW about a month ago.

50% because the store was closing and moving to a new location.

Keep in mind that a cheap otto may not be a living one. Make sure the store has had them in for a couple of weeks already and that they are fat. If it's not fat or has just arrived in the store, pass it up regardless of price. A cheap fish that dies isn't so cheap.

That's not to say that the ones suggested in this thread or a bad choice. Just to offer the idea to not let price be the determining factor.

Petsmart has a 2 week guarantee on their fish.
