I know Ultimate fish on 2920 has them, but id hate to buy one from a store only to find out someone was trying to rehome theirs.

you should just buy a small one, they grow really fast.

Fish Ranch has a HUGE one for I think about 80.00 or so. It seemed to be in good condition, but his spots are not as prominent as the one I own.

like i was told, you need to decide whether you want a river or lake giraffe cat. Or decide that you dont care. The River ones will easily cost 2-3x what a lake one will cost.

Check with Fish-r-us, they may not have one right now but they usually do carry them

actually, the lake varients are more rare, stay smaller and tend to cost more. the river giraffes are more abundant, get larger and cost less.

dammit, i always mix it up. Regardless, one is more expensive than the other is what i was going for.

So how can I tell if we've got river or lake giraffe cats? Are the markings different?

I just read that Lake cats can get up to about 3 feet??!! But River cats average about 17".

One of ours is larger than 17", but definitely not 3 feet. :)

the markings are different. The coloring on the river will more monotone color, while the Lake will have a light brown with a few dark dots on it.

Here is a pic of mine. it is the more rare Lake varient
