  • How long can a tank sit without water?

I have a 210G tank that has been sitting up for a while. I was wondering do tank seals ever go bad and if so, what should be done to prevent this?

    Thanks for any advise.

    I've never heard such thing.
Logic tells me a tank full of water would put more stress on the seams/ glass ...

Yes, Heat and cold weather effect the silicone. Depending on the manufacture and how old the tank is.

For smaller amounts of water, about 24 hours, or overnight. BUT, this still doesnt make the water safe, this only gets rid of chlorine, not chlornime (not sure on spelling) you still need to add water conditioner to the water..
