  • HELPPPPPPP marine ICK!!!!!!!

    ok I saw today the tang that i buy last week with ick ............ pretty sure came with it

    the other tank mates are with no sign of it 2 clown fish, fire fish, royal gramma ,bangai cardinal


    i have all the equipment to make a quick quarantine tank but is 10 gal i don't think i can fit all in there for 3 months to wait for the tank to clear the ick ???


    suggestion plz as right now I don't wanna loose any fish

    any help would be pretty much appreciated
    125 gal-P. Kachase,simochromis, vampire pleco,bn pleco,bulldog pleco

    55 gal- Ilangis ,clown pleco,abn pleco,rubber lip pleco

    55 gal-Canary cheek,Ikola,duboisi, and fry

    10 gal -fry tank,snails

    Water changes are the best bet... keep an eye on the fish. If he is eating, he should be fine. Just keep doing water changes

      I did a 5g water change yesterday

      how much and how many times per week is a 55g with a 20g refugium ?

      hes eating like a champ

        I'd say 20% 2-3x a week. I wouldn't worry too much unless it stops eating

          Geraldo, quit playing. Get some Quick Cure and dose the tank per directions, you should be ich free fairly quickly.

              He's got a QT so that should hold the fish for the few days it takes to treat them.

                  Yeah I don't mess with that IMO trying to catch them out and put them in a new tank causes more stress and in turn weakens the fish. I go with do nothing and let them fight it by providing food, clean water and vitamins and minerals. It's the best treatment I have done. I have had 80% success with this as opposed to 10% with any treatments on average. If the fish is really sick and isn't eating or really moving then yeah take him out. But if he's eating and swimming I leave them.

                    Thanks to all haven't got a chance to see it today, when I come back from work will check on him , as yesterday was still eating amd waiting for food
