    Can anyone tell me what kind of angler this is!

            Antennarius pictus are mostly reef safe. Liveaquaria usually sells them for $100 for a 3" one

                Maybe I'm looking at something wrong? The picture in the OP looks nothing like either of these.

                Took at peek at liveaquaria and I didn't see it listed. Is it a special order kind of thing for them? There's another angler that's $89+, but it's the Antennarius maculatus

                  Check out the divers den on liveaquaria they have 2 on there, but they aren't maroon and gold they are a different color variant?

                    The one the OP posted looks like a Hispidus from Manado, Indonesia:



                    Since they rely on camouflage, I reckon there's some variation in color.

                        I just don't see it. Slight color or pattern variation I could imagine, but the pattern is completely different.

                              Ah. I see them. One is $100 for a 2 1/4" and the other is $70 for 2 3/8".
