  • baby clowns...

so my pair of clowns laid their first batch since i got them...

and im wondering do they absolutely need rotifiers as new born or can i use the baby brine shrimp and dead rotifers....

if i leave them in the tank will the parents end up eating them as well? just have the pair of clowns and a yellow tang..

    TIA

On topic, I'm sure you can get by with using the bottled stuff, should have at least some survive, as far as with the other fish and corals, I would expect a much lower survival rate than already.

Baby clown fish new borns can only eat live rotifers for the first 4 to 5 days of life. Then you will need to get this - Hobbyist Breeder Pack

Contains a 1 oz bag of Otohime A, 3oz bags of B1, B2, C1, C2, EP1 and EP2 from Reed Nutrition at some point after the 4-5 day you can start on the live BBS then start mixing in the Otohime A and gradually build up from there. At least that is what I have been told to do.

                      Re: baby clowns...

Head on over to Marsh, there are a few threads being discussed on this very topic at this very moment! Raising clown fry is very difficult and very Labour intensive as you have to grow one thing in order to feed another thing in order to feed your fry! Best advise you can get right now will be from members mike13oy and tektite, they're both geniuses in this field!

Sorry just now seeing this.... I saw one of Mikes post on here he said he feeds the fry live rotifers for the first two weeks and then the BBS I am not sure if he uses that food that I was telling you about this evening.
