I think the bristlenoses are plant safe or you could go with o-cats. Be careful with plecos because most of them rasp the plants leaving behind lacey looking leaves.

In a 75, well planted tank I would get about 10 o-cats, and about 4 small bristle nose pleco's -- Personally I see the Bristle nose do hard surface cleaning, rocks, and glass... usually with the plants they are to heavy and move off the plants that are to delicate. This is where the o-cats come in, they like the plants, but are not good at all the other exposed open area cleaning where they are more exposed to predators..

I would also add a slew of nerite snails. I was amazed at how much better my tanks looked a few days after adding some. Only downside is the white eggs they leave everywhere, but I am learning to ignore those.

Yup but as Astex pointed out, they leave little white eggs EVERYWHERE. It annoys the heck out of me. Not enough to take them out of the tank but then again I'm pretty lazy. The eggs just won't hatch without brackish water.

Baby plecos of any variety are great algae eaters. Once they get larger they like less algae and more plants/wood. In any size tank, the best algae eaters are oto's. Get 10 and never worry about algae again.
