I've kept mystery snails for several years in some of my tanks, gold and black. Well eventually I got crossbreeds. Some of the yellow bodies would have black shells, and black shells with yellow bodies. I've kept the yellow shells with the black bodies cause I think the looked the best.
The newest generation is half all black and half yellow shells with the black bodies. I didn't get any yellow bodies with black shells. I thought it was pretty cool.
II use to have a blue I bought at Petsmart, but it died and I haven't seen blue ones in stores since. Please let me know if you know where to get blue or purple trapdoor snails.
Tons of babies though so if anyone wants a snail or six, they are of course free.
