aerated bottom drains to remove solids (fish poop) to the nexus for solids removal from the water. aeration to provide water motion and also to add much needed air to the pond. i have a pic of the bottom drains and will post those later when i find them.

I love it.....may I ask though...how much does it cost to run 24/7....?

The pond could double for a swimming pool eh?

          Seriously.....it looks great...nice job.

Nice pond! The size is very similar to my father in-laws pond. Time to throw some petros and trophs in there. :)

swimming pool? not unless you want to be taking in fish water!

              2 pumps at 300 watts
              2 airpumps at 80 watts
              1 uv at 57 watts

it's about $50 to $60 bucks? still more efficient than the submersible pumps i was using in the old pond.

pic of the bottom drains pre-install. it's your basic model with a little modification to add air. the air-ring is attached via plastic clips and the hose is your garden variety soaker hose.

Nice job! Is the design yours? Did the city require permits and inspections?

                        Hi Mark and everyone,

                        Thanks for the compliments.

Yes, design/idea was mine. the bench was a last minute addition and glad i was around when the front was being built.

no inspection needed if the dept is less than 6ft. that is why the pond measures 5.8ft deep.

wanted a rasied pond because my yard is sloped to this area and i was tired of rain water washing into it. that and the grass clipping were killing me.

get a bunch of quotes. i got quotes as low as $4000 total up to $20,000.

my guy charged $4K for the labor
materials (minus the flagstone) was about $2500 (liner was $800) for pvc, blocks, cement, extra labor, electrical work, etc...
filters can vary: brand new nexus is $2k for the 200, $2.5K for the 300. i got mine for $500 scouring the web. or you can build a multi-chambered raceway (settling, mechanical, bio) instead for much cheaper.

if you want some advice on pond design or construction methods (liner, grunite, block w/fiberglass), let me know. there are some serious ponds in your part of texas.
