  • Zoa ID?

So just got some new zoas. I don't know the names of them.

I got an idea of what these are "officially" called but I wanted to see what you guys think to make sure.

This is a picture of three zoas. I just want to know what you guys think of the two new zoas. The brown with white star center and the pink zoa.

Kind of a better picture of the white star center zoa.

Let me know what you guys think!

    Thanks.

    Pink zoa: pink panther
brown/red with white star zoa: sirius

Thanks man! I actually ha a electrical problem last week where I lost power to the tank for like 8 hours. Damn apartments!

Anyhow, all the zoas looked bad but I did a water change and they have all recovered nicely after a week.

I think keeping the marcos in the tank really really helps keep the tank clean and I also have no fish still.

Still undecided what I want to get.

I have have the green ones. They grow faster which means they suck up the nitrates faster. I keep them trimmed like on my FW planted tank.

thanks, I had some idea but it does look it like a sunburst zoa. I bet if I get some MH on this tank they will change colors too.

I think the pink ones are Pink Panthers zoas. Sold as unknown but looks like pink panthers to me.

                          Yeah they man!

Sometime times it can be very drastic too.

Nothing only that, under different lighting zoas can develop new color patterns that they didn't have before.

Yeah i had a guy come over to buy coral from me this week. he was amaized at how much growth i have with just 3.46 watts per gal of power compact lighting. One of my fastest growing corals is purple monti. But i have even noticed corals change color under my light. Soft corals look brighter and sps looks duller under cf lighting, and i have had 1 zoa morph on me. It change from orange to green.
