When I walk my dog I often walk along the drainage behine our subdivsion (Harvest Bend, the Meadow). There are Gambusia every were, but I also see Sailfin Mollies and some bigger fish.

I the last time I saw Mollies I was at the east end of the ditch. You can tell the Mollies from the Gambusia because they are bigger and have blue on there fims. The Mollies are also hare to catch. Gambusia will swim into your net.

If I walk in the other direction, I come to a place were two ditchs intersect. There are several species living here A few day ago I saw a Texas Cichlid in breeding color here.

Yester day I saw a big snake in this locaton. I did not go back today

        :)

You mentioned the Gambusia swam into your net - have you collected there before? Seen any other species besides the Gambusia, mollies, and TX Cichlid?

I'm not familiar with the area you mentioned - could you tell me in which direction you are from downtown Houston?

        Thanks!

WELL...you actually need a permit to sell native fish in Texas.

There are Sunfish and catfish there also. I would think killies as well, am not shure what type of minnows live in that stream.

Northwest from Downtown, Bealtway 8 and Fallbrook.

Fish are people too, they just have gills.

I think you just need to contact TPWD. I can find the right contact when I get home, if you're curious. I'm pretty sure it's listed on their website in the regulations section.
