  • How To Acclimate RCS?

i am getting some RCS for my 10g planted tank in a couple days.
i would like to know how to proerly acclimate these awesome little critters?
i have never kept any kind of shrimp before.
i googled it, but there aredifferent ways, and i just want to know the best way from first hand experience.

also, do they require a top on there tank?
like a tightly closed top with now little escape areas?

thanx in advance for the advice

I acclimated mine like I do fish; drip acclimated in a bucket for an hour.

I don't think you need a tight-fitting top with these. I never noticed mine trying to climb out. I have tops on my shrimp tanks just to support the light but there are plenty of gaps in them.

What are the facts? Again and again and again--what are the facts? Shun wishful thinking, ignore devine revelation, forget what "the stars foretell", avoid opinion, care not what the neighbors think, never mind the unguessable "verdict of history"--what are the facts, and to how many decimal places? You pilot always into an unknown future; facts are your only clue.

I drop mine in the tank. I started with 3 of them & soon had over 300. You will want a lid if you don't want to find some on the floor after the have beed spooked. other than that let them do their thing!

so just acclimate them for 30 minutes in the bag, and then drop them in the tank?

i have a partial glass top, just one half to support the light, the rest is open.

              They are like roaches...

Just make sure the parameters are somewhat similar and there has not been copper used or similar meds in the tank.
