  • TV Fish Tank

Got my hands on this old color TV which I was told was one of the best back in the days and now it's retiring as a fish tank. I'm still having some clearance issues and other fabrications I need to do, but thought i'd share this and hopfully have it done in a couple days.

Will this be affected by the DTV conversion .

I'm looking forward to seeing the finished product, it looks like it may be more work than I'd personally care to undertake.

this is awesome, can't wait to see the finished product, what filtration? how do you change water? does the top come off or are there are mechanisms? lights? what type of fish do you plan on putting in it? i would say something low maintenance since either way it will be hard to maintain, anyway, can't wait to see it come to life

Will you have more than one channel?
                    Planted tank channel 2
                    Saltwater tank channel 3
                    Freshwater tank channel 4
                    etc. etc. etc.

Can't wait to see the finished product, I'm sure it's going to be great.

                        very cool!

what size tank fits in that?

you should wire up the power button to control the lights!

I put a 20g in there. Thats a cool idea that I might consider about the power button. I thought I could leave the top on but it will be imposibble to do anything, so I took it off. I need to find some hinges that lift up first. Lighting will be a homemade simple 17wt8. I have a aquaclear 50 for it but might need to use a canister filter because of clearance issues and elimate water splash to tv. Not sure what I will put in the tank.

did you wire up the light to the power knob? how about a pic with it all closed up with the light on from aways back so we can get the feel for the whole thing.
