  • filtration for 125g, do I need more?

So I finally got my 125g RR up and running.

    I have  a sealife wet/dry 200. Planning on putting a mag 12 on it.

I also have a eheim 2260 filled with eheim media.

    Do I need more filtration?

    Do I need more flow?

Just wondering what the experts think? Thanks.

im running an home made wet dry, single over flow and emp 400, along side another 300gph filter.

      crystal clear......

I tried to run and Mag 9, with an double overflow and had issues keeping the both u tubes going.
oh that........ thats just my 300 gallon fish tank, nothing fancy.

You could try a powerhead w/filter. I have an Odyssea 500 that pushes current all the way across my 6 foot tank.

Depends on how you want to stock it.

I think it's decent... add a tunze, Magnum Koralia or modded K4.

update: might be picking a k3 and a k4.  I thinking I'm done after that. Sale is pending right now so I'm not 100% its going to depend.

My stocking ideas are for now are (I change my mind like 100 times a day so......)

            1) WC petro.

            2) WC trophs.

Numbers?........The most I can get of any kind that would do well in the 125g.

personally, I know their is a lot of people that have used odyssa and thats cool. But if its not a wet/dry......I go eheim.

Forget the K3.... go K4 with the sureflo mod!

Eheim.... only canisters, pumps and maybe their tanks....

yeah, I was thinking that.......but if I get both and mod the k4 I'm put that on the 125g and put the K3 on the 75g.....maybe mod the k3 too!

                      K3 doesn't mod like the K4...

For the lack of flow I'd probably put them both in the 125g.

dude, I just put the mag 12 on the 125g........flow is stupid!

If you got time on friday or saturday or just drinking up north.....I need you to come over and check it out. This thing sounds like a flushing toilet! I did some mods to make it a little better but its still not the way I want it.

regarding the powerheads......I called that foo and he is talking about I got to buy all K1, k3 and k4 cause some other dude wanted to buy all three. I rather just buy a new K4 from Dr. FandS cause they got that sell......either way I'll see.

Yeah the Mag12 is a beast... but once you start putting rocks in there you will see that it's still not enough.

I say you can never have 'too much' flow or filtration

Man.... I have been meaning to ask... why just a Mag12?

With a drilled tank and dual overflows I'm think at least a Mag18.
