So I finally got a large tank that I wanted and I think it turned out nice in my house. It is the tank I bought from Chris (Txfatcat) and it cleaned up real nice. Here are some pics I took of it after I put it where I want. I will next need to get a filter thinking about a 2260, put some extra coats of stain, and put a smaller trim maybe. I will update with pics as I progress. I am trying to decide aquascaping on this also I have a couple of different ideas.

Re: 140 Discus Chronicles
Is that Chris's 140 and the nice stand he made? Sure looks good in that pic.....can't wait to see your progress with it....
Have fun and good luck....

Re: 140 Discus Chronicles
'Dear Lord,' the minister began, with arms extended toward heaven and a rapturous look on his upturned face. 'Without you, we are but dust ...'
He would have continued but at that moment my very obedient daughter who was listening leaned over to me and asked quite audibly in her shrill little four-year old girl voice, 'Mom, what is butt dust?'

Yes, lots of pretty fish!!!!
How is your setup going? Â Did all your fish make it? How is the pretty polka dot one that is capable of eating all of the other fish??

Re: 140 Discus Chronicles
Finally got it up and running had to make a few trips to Home Depot to plumb it up the way I want it. Here are some pics of the plumbing. I am running the right side as the intake straight into the pump. The outflow is running to a Hydor 300W inline heater then to a UV filter that Chris gave me. After that I am running it back through the left side after making a trip through a shut off valve that I added. In the Eheim I put about 20lbs of lava rock 3 filter pads that I cut from larger squares and I added a bag of carbon to help filter for the first time. I got the idea of using lava rocks from Dan he mentioned it was cheaper and just as effective as anything you can buy. That is why I love going to Dan's and I will go to him as much as possible for my fish needs. Plus the great deal he gave me on the 2262 and a couple of freebies he threw in to help my get started. For the substrate I am using pool filter sand. So far so good. Hopefully in about a week I will add some tester fish to make sure it is good before I start adding my Discus and more.

Re: 140 Discus Chronicles
So I added some rock scape and the driftwood I picked up from Michael. It hides the intake from the front perfectly. I think I need a driftwood on the left side. The water is a little cloudy from moving the sand around to place the rocks where I wanted them.
