GHAC Auction "2008" Announcement

GHAC Officers met this evening and discussed the latest information regarding Hurricane Ike in relation to our Scheduled Auction this Saturday.

The Auction Schedule has not changed.  Check-in time is 10am and start time is 11am.

We will update this thread Friday at 2pm.  We will determine the best option available to us at that time.

So please check back.

How do you think the outcome of this will be?

Most people on here have bunkered down to wait out the storm while others are going to be evacuating....then it also falls on the same day as HCCC auction.

just finished doing some major water changes on all freshwater tanks,

did saltwater tanks yestereday

Many of us are frustrated at Ike because we have worked hard for the past two months on this auction, but because GHAC cares about its members and the aquatic community as a whole, we have elected to postpone the GHAC auction. We don't want anyone to risk their safety to come to an auction this weekend.  

We want everyone to be safe.  Please take this Hurricane seriously and do what you have to do to be safe.


In the next day or two we will be announcing the new date for the GHAC Auction.  

We are sorry that the weather chose not to cooperate, but the Auction will go on.

I cant wait for the new auction date :)  I hope it will be soon :)

Everyone keep safe.  At 10pm CST the National Hurricane Center has the storm 369 miles from Galveston moving at 12mph in a WNW direction.
They expect the hurricane to hit Galveston Island about 1am CST Saturday morning between 110-115mph.  Channelview should see the hurricane being around 85-90mph when it crosses there and Huntsville should see it cross them as a Hurricane 1 or a Tropical Storm strength.

Please be aware of flooding and other potential dangers on the roads :)
