    Use a bulkhead

Dorothy : How can you talk if you haven't got a brain?
Scarecrow: I don't know... But some people without brains do an awful lot of talking... don't they?
Dorothy: Yes, I guess you're right.

I bought a bulkhead (I think), the guy at the aquarium shop said to get some sealant from home depot and just glue it it place with this little white dinky flimsy looking cap.  8O

if the bulkhead have threads inside just apply glue to the plug and screw it in the bulkhead.

I've always been a "cheap" hobiest.
I find that a 50cent 4x4 ceramic tile and a little 100% silicone will cover any hole and strengthen the glass as well.
'Dear Lord,' the minister began, with arms extended toward heaven and a rapturous look on his upturned face. 'Without you, we are but dust ...'
He would have continued but at that moment my very obedient daughter who was listening leaned over to me and asked quite audibly in her shrill little four-year old girl voice, 'Mom, what is butt dust?'

There are bulkheads that are closed....either that or use a closed cap if you have a threaded bulkhead and it will seal it.

HomeDepot should have it or start calling around the LFS for it.....citypets has a decent supply.

I cast my vote for a cheap piece of ceramic, your going to cover it anyway, and it will be just as easy to seal in place.

I would use bulk heads because if you later want to add better filtration to the tank then a wet/dry is a great way to add more filtration to a tank.
If the tank is going to be a planted tank then using a wet/dry is prolly not the best thing to do as it will add a ton of O2 to the tank which would not make the plants totally happy.

The proper bulkhead is only gonna be at the most like $10-15.....
