OK, so I got my WC Sulawesi Cardinal Shrimp order in today. Only 1/3 of my order made it alive, so just a handful. They are something else to look at...wow! Just the short time I had to watch them before returning to work I can tell they have more personality than RCS. I'll know for sure in the next 48 hours if they will all make it.
No casualties yet, crossing my fingers and toes. Those that made survived the shipping are still going strong...I'm really hoping these guys/gals do well. I understand they have smaller batches of babies. Once I get these going I want to get a few others.
I did nothing to lower ph. 10g tank has a small HOB with filter media wrapped around the intake and also a small sponge filter. Both are seasoned and the tank was already up and running with other shrimp in it till I relocated them. I also have a small heater keeping the temp at 81 degrees. The tank itself is inside, in my daughter's bedroom. I was worried about the temp in my fishroom outside, it can get up to 86 degrees.
FishGallery had these same shrimp, but they called them Freshwater Fire Shrimp and were priced for around $17 a piece. I went to go see them this past Wed.
