I saw them a while back too. They are beautiful. The price is 1/10 of that I might get some. I plan form ordering some snowballs from them at some point.

They are supposedly brackish from what I have read on german sites...

I'm fairly new to this fish addiction thing...and don't have shrimp.  Are they always that expensive????  I sure don't pay that much to have them on my poboy! :)

                  Seriously...they have fabulous colors.

Wow on the beautiful shrimp, but WOW on the price!

Unless I am mistaken these are almost all the same species, just different color morphs, and all breed readily in fresh water......

Tabeguache, you should start with Red Cherry Shrimp. Theyre fairly cheap and breed easily. Theres lot of affordable colours, and then lots of not-so-affordable colours.

                        Re: Are these for real?!

What I read on the german forum was that there are some that are saltwater/brackish and all have very specific water parameters.....of course anyone would be very cautious with them being so expensive.

But then again your high grade CRS are up there too.

Okay, I've been looking around a bit. Apparently, there are quite a few different species of Caridina living in the Milili lakes in Sulawesi, and were described as early as 1937. I'm off to find out more.

While we are on this topic...I've been keeping silent for a while now.... but the excitement is just too much to bear

I have an empty tank awaiting a long distance shrimp shipment in mid march.
                            Tanks specs : 10 gal, freshwater, Temp 82deg, pH 8.3, gH 6
It has a clump of artificial coral polyps to simulate sponges.

Any guesses to the contents of my shipment??.......
