Aquasoil has heavy sediment after re-setup of planted tank

I had to tear down my planted tank to check for a leak and am now ready to set it back up.  I kept my Aquasoil submerged in water the whole time.  Now that I have put it back in the tank, there is a ton of sediment floating around and in the Aquasoil.  Should I use a canister filter and get that sediment out of the tank or should I let it settle in before turning on any filtration?

Me personally....I would run a filter with floss to get it out.

Probably crushed up Aquasoil from removing it from the tank.
