There is no zoo or aquarium in the world where one can go see Texas' endangered Gambusia gaigei ( Big Bend ), heterochir (Clear Creek ), or nobilis ( Pecos ). TPWD list Gambusia georgi ( San Marcos ) as endangered but they are probably extinct. It is illegal for anyone to take one of these fish out of the water to look at it or to photograph it. Are the Texas threatened Gambusia out of sight, out of mind, soon to be out of existance?
