the fish flew across the cockpit and took him out of the boat. He landed about 15ft away.

[ obligatory bigger fish story ]
That's nothing!! One time when I was deep sea fishing, the marlin impaled me through the neck! Luckily I had my filet knife on my belt and was able to not only kill the marlin, but filet it by the time the boat got turned around to pick me up! I had to talk with a vox box for a while, but I eventually got better, and there's no scar. My camera also fell into the ocean in the melee, too, so no pics either.
