  • Have you used silk plants?

I'm in the process of gathering stuff to setup a new tank and was wondering about silk plants.  I've seen the SeaGarden series from Aquarium Systems and also the Plants+ line from Penn Plax but only in the store.  Does anyone know how these plants actually look in the water?  Are they any more difficult to clean than plastic varieties?

harder to clean if algae gets on it but looks much nicer than the plastic ones.

      agreed
      Scarecrow : I haven't got a brain... only straw.
Dorothy : How can you talk if you haven't got a brain?
Scarecrow: I don't know... But some people without brains do an awful lot of talking... don't they?
Dorothy: Yes, I guess you're right.

I use that brand...I think they look fine. Of course I avoid any of them that arent just green, maybe a red tinge...looks more natural. They do look better than the plastic ones. I havent experienced algae on them yet....hope this helps.
