Calvus are some of the absolute slowest growing fish there is, so you'll just have to watch them and see what te m/f ratio lookks like.
-
I'm going to let them settle in a bit first then see where to go next (figure out who the dominant fish are, male/female behavior etc.) The end goal is probably 1M:2F. I already fixed my rocks to make room for a shell bed at the end of my tank so I'm definitely interested in some shell dwellers sooner or later. Will let you know!

No biggie, thats one of the cool things about this forum. We all try to help each other out the best we can and most everybody gets along very well with no issues. Oh if you want just a few of those calvus ill go halves with u. Im interested in them as well. Or could trade u some multifasciatus for a couple

Apologies, I can't help contain the excitement when setting up a new tank. :)

Calvus are predatory fish, and their bodies are tough armored. The Leleupi i wouldn't worry about them hurting the calvus! This is a buy sell thread. Open one up about tang fish, so we can discuss fish and stuff.

There are lots of options.
In a 55 and the current size of the calvus introducing a second fish now is perfect.
Will discuss ideas tomorrow when you stop by.

I want to look into building another rock structure for more fish. The Calvus are roughly 2 inches from what I'm told.
The main thing I am worried about is the Calvus being outcompeted (by for instance a leleupi) for territory since they are relatively small now. I may take you up on the multis though. I will let you know whichever way I go, after more reading... still have about 2-3 weeks before I add my second batch of fish after I introduce the Calvus.

You can still do a mixed tank. Depending on the size of the calvus ! Just dont get small tank mates. Iv got a full on community tang tank and everybody gets along.Originally posted by digitallinh View PostPlanning to get the Calvus colony from danielp!
I guess I'm doing a calvus tank instead of mixed community. Hopefully they breed!
You can still
Still looking for cyps non jumbo.

I have 6 yellow fin calvus.
They are located at my office in the Reliant area.
Will only sell as a group.
They're very nice and I dont really want to part with them but I'm limited on tank space with no plans to upgrade.

It's a 55g,so if all possible, I'd like a non jumbo variety. My filter is being cycled so I probably have another week or so before livestock. Will let you know soon.
