Now I'm rethinking my decor. I had a more magnified scape imagined where I had a vertical with a diagonal angling downward. Maybe even a faux valve.

Cool and unique. Remind me of my senior project years ago building a cable stay bridge. LOL

Very nice, FearThisG. The thought has come and gone for me. I completed my build with a golden means minimalist layout and very happy with it. I originally considered an oil rig setup as I spearfish the rigs had some visions of really nice leg backgrounds with rocky foregrounds.

I had the same thoughts mredman mentioned, however reconsidered after realizing all the lost space in a 75 gallon.

Wow that cool. Yes I have been Out and about to an old out of commission oil rig. They are cool looking. And there is fish under there because of the shade.

I would use PVC (grey) and have one central stem using a wider diameter with three legs coming out at an angle. The tessellated blenny makes its home on oil rigs and is one of the most fascinating fish in the GOM. Although authentic, do not add a barracuda to a tank this small!!!

Yes I was referring to the outside of the tank. Yes salt water and metal would not go together.

Metal and salt water? You are talking about the footing of a platform? Maybe PVC. or 3D copier.

Sounds like a cool idea. Draw up the plans and take it to a metal shop.

    Idea: Oil Rig Reef Scaping

So I had an interesting conversation about how interesting a mock oil rig would be for aquascaping. Being a diver and working in the oil industry, it sounds like a great concept for my 75gal build under construction. Has anyone seen a setup like this or have any ideas on how to construct?
