U can use that filter for fowlr or fo. It's basically useless for a reef tanks

It is not useless if you plan to keep only softies such as mushrooms, zoas, leather etc. Sps demand more pristine water which a mechanical filter alone can't provide.

Anyone used one of those big 5 gallon eheim filters on their saltwater setup?

If so, what do you put in it for filtration? Standard like filter floss, carbon, etc?
