Shrimps would be cheaper.

Plus he can pass on a good skimmer and go with the UV.

If monies is an issue with SW....find another hobby.

To find out the heater was broken. The light turns on and everything. It just didnt produce heat. My guess is fish die from cold water.

By what fish? The wrasse can too. I have seen one get to aggressive in its cleaning and piss off the fish who then closed his mouth. No more wrasse plus I hear they are harder to keep more sensitive.

Yeah I was iffy on the lion fish. I just threw it in there knowing someone will bring it up. But I am going to get most to all fish juvie size.

With all those tangs I would scrap the lionfish and get cleaner shrimp

Those will be gone if you still plan on the lionfish. You shouldn't add any predators. My puffer's personality came to life when I got rid of my lionfish. Most angels and tangs get pretty big. If you get them small, you should be fine for a while. I would go for smaller fish so you can have more quantity of fish.

Skimmer by far, especially in a fish only system where you're probably going to end up feeding heavily. The skimmer will actually remove crap from the water resulting in lower nutrients = less algea. The uv will "clarify" your water but won't actually do anything but kill bacteria, spores and parasites (still something of benefit to your fish)
