i have seen some nice systems $150+ to start the 30g tank with a premix water would cost me higher than buying an rodi unit

John down at HAW has mixed saltwater for .70 a gallon. That way you can get it running and start the cycle while you save to get the rodi.

You can usually get a Nice used one for around $100

you can use distilled for top off until you get a rodi unit. Look at amazon they have some pretty decent portable units for cheap

Most pet stores sell premixed saltwater. City pets. Fjw and 3cc all sell premixed water, just go buy some to get it started. Make sure to get rodi freshwater to top off the tank so the salinity doeant get too high.

I would just start with rodi... or at least windmill water. Tap is a good way to start a lot of problems in a tank. Better safe than sorry

I would only do RODI especially if you plan to keep corals. Even with fish only, tap water tends to breed Cyanobacteria and other algae due to nitrate in tap water..

yes sir indeed its been that long. My father passed in October and my Loan officer was diagnose with cancer stage 3 in november. we are in the middle of her fight! it sure has made this super slow for me. but patience is important for salt.

you can get some dry rock for cheap and use the live rock you have to seed it. That is how I started my nano with one big piece of live rock form Jacob to seed the rest. Dry rock is gonna be a lot cheaper to find at an LFS. ReefCleaners has some dope dry rock. I am gonna get some for my 90.

my rock is dry so i need live to seed. sorry i forgot to mention that.
